1. Division
logo - “Howling Wolf”
- This design
has been endorsed by Dr. Stafford and the Small Staff.
- Creative Services
should have final versions available in the next few weeks.
- The Group decided
that there is value in unveiling this at the End of Year program. Some suggestions
include to following, which Leslie will share with Dr. Stafford and Tracey
Ray:
- Play the
"howling wolf" sound when unveiled on screen
- Have PGC
incorporate into the event
- Purchase
and display a banner
- Purchase
a few t-shirts with logo and give out as door prizes
- Be sure
to have Dr. Stafford describe why we need a logo, how it will be used,
etc.
- Hand out
placards (similar to Project SAFE placards) that employees can post in
their office areas
- Create some
mystery and excitement by sending out teasers - show a box with a question
mark
- There is great
interest in providing lapel pins to all in the Division. However, the cost
may be prohibitive. It is possible that University Dining and University Housing
can help fund this.
- In addition
to unveiling this at the End of Year program, the logo needs to be publicized
in other ways:
- Bulletin
article
- link on
the university home page
- a letter
from Dr. Stafford to Division staff and others in the university, with
samples attached
2. Spring and
Summer Schedule
- Remaining meetings
include:
- April 11
– lots to discuss with logo, web, IDEA Grants
- April 25
– lots to discuss with logo, web, IDEA Grants
- May 9 –
canceled because folks will be too busy with end of semester, and several
have conflicts
- June and
July - all regular meetings canceled due to Orientation and vacation conflicts
- August -
restart meetings (dates/times to be determined)
- In the interim
- Keep in touch with NetForum;
each member can post a topic and respond to others
3. Retreat
- Approximately
1/2 day
- June 16 is the
date; Leslie will confirm exact time and location soon
- Some discussion
as to whether to invite one or two others from Tech Staff (LANTechs and Webmasters)
and/or faculty (Music and ROTC in addition to Peggy). Consensus is that its
not a good fit for this meeting, but that we should definitely find ways to
include these groups in DETAG projects. One idea is to find a willing/interested
representative from the Tech STaff to serve with DETAG permanently.
- Possible agenda
items
- 2003-2004
meeting schedule – frequency, etc
- list and
prioritize DETAG projects for 2003-2004
- Assess what
we’ve accomplished so far
3. LANTech and
Webmaster meeting
- Reactions to
this first meeting were very good, from both DETAG and the participants.
- Next meetings
and trainings have been scheduled.
- A DETAG update
should be provided at each meeting, to make clear that DETAG is looking for
a collaborative patnership, rather than a DETAG forcing its opinion and decisions
on the Tech Staff.
- Martha Pierce
(Student Conduct) and Nicholl Simpson (Multicultural Student Affairs) will
take the lead on crafting some standard duties for the Tech staff.
- Agendas for
upcoming trainings and meetings to be posted on DETAG's NetForum
for comment.
4. Career
Center Project
- Beverly Marchi
shared an update on a project from the Career Center to create an online version
of the "Developing Job Skills" services that they provide. More
information can provided at the web site.
5. Updates
for NetForum and/or future meeting
