About the Student Affairs Listserv
This Listserv was established in 1994 as a means for sharing information in an efficient manner. It may be used to publicize activities and events, to discuss items of mutual concern, to notify others of new policies, to announce personnel changes; the list is virtually endless. The Vice Chancellor also uses this list to make requests for reports or other information, and to notify the Division regarding significant university news. As of 2002, the Listserv averages approximately three postings per week. The listserv is managed by Leslie Dare; please contact her if you have any questions.

The following individuals are subscribed to the Student Affairs Listserv:

How to use the Listserv

    1. Open a new mail message.

    2. In the "To" field, type stuaff-l@lists.ncsu.edu

    3. Complete the "Subject" field (make it meaningful!)

    4. Type your message and send it.

    5. Tip - add this email address to your Address Book for future use!

Notes:

    1. Only those subscribed to the listserv can post to it. If you are not a subscriber, ask the appropriate person in your area to post it for you (likely your unit or department head).

    2. Please do not send messages to Leslie Dare to post. You need to post your own messages for these reasons:

--Your message may not go out as quickly as you like if you have to wait for Leslie to post it.
--Readers may associate the topic or importance of the message with the sender; messages from your area need to be associated with you.
--This creates an unnecessary workload for Leslie.

    3. Want to learn more about listservs?

    --Read about listserv etiquette
    --Check out our terminology section

--Visit NC State's Listserv home page
--Contact Leslie Dare if you need any assistance
