Justine Hollingshead,
Director

Ms. Justine Hollingshead was hired as the new Director of the GLBT Center in January 2008 and is responsible for the overall operation of the center, including programs and services, and will supervise the Graduate Assistant, who will assist with these activities, as well as advise the GLBT student organization AEGIS. Her background includes over twenty years of success working as an administrator in Higher Education on three different college campuses across the country. She offers particular expertise in training, supervision, programming, and administration, with an in-depth working knowledge and passion of the issues facing the GLBT community.

As a professional in Higher Education Justine has had the opportunity to develop training programs, advise student organizations, participate in assessment endeavors, and facilitate community outreach programs.  Ms. Hollingshead earned her Bachelors degree from Slippery Rock University in Communication, her Masters degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park and has completed a ten-week comprehensive business training program with the Council for Entrepreneurial Development in North Carolina. 

Rebekah Jaeger, Graduate Assistant

Becky Jaeger is a PhD student in the Counselor Education program at North Carolina State University. She started the program in fall 2005 and is very excited about being able to serve in this position during her studies. Currently, Becky is focusing her research on gay males and eating disorder prevalence. Prior to her time at NC State, she studied at the State University of New York - Albany. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Psychology, with a minor in philosophy.

Matthew Woodward, Office Assistant

Matthew Woodward is a sophomore majoring in applied sociology with intentions for pursing a graduate degree in higher education and student affairs.  To aid in his development as a future student affairs professional, Matthew was selected as a NASPA Undergraduate fellow, providing him unique opportunities through a semi-structured mentoring program.  While at NC State, Matthew has been appointed as the GLBT community representative to the Presidents' Roundtable and Chancellor's Liaison group. Matthew has had numerous opportunities to educate NC State about GLBT issues and concerns; some of which have won awards including “Gay in the Media,” which was presented at the 2008 Unity Conference in Chapel Hill, NC.
