NC State University policy states that University physicians may not provide written excuses for class absences. If University officials need to know about a student’s visit to Counseling or Student Health, this information can be released only at the student's written request or in crisis cases, due to confidentiality laws. Students are given a document during their visit to Student Health that summarizes services received and charges incurred.
