Crafts Center
Explore your Creativity – Class & Workshop opportunities await you at The Crafts Center!

For more than 40 years, The Crafts Center has functioned as an art school specializing in crafts classes and workshops in art, pottery, sculpture, weaving, fiber arts, photography, woodworking, glass, jewelry, lapidary, and more. The Crafts Center provides a friendly and informal learning environment for students and craftspeople of all levels. NC State’s Crafts Center is one of the finest university crafts programs in the country. Classes and studio use are available to NCSU students, alumni, employees, and the general public. The Crafts Center studios and professional staff are also available to support academic classes, projects, and independent studies.

While the Frank Thompson Building undergoes long-awaited renovations during 2007 and 2008, The Crafts Center is will be relocated in a temporary “home away from home” at 516 Brickhaven Drive, near the J.C. Raulston Arboretum. At this facility, The Crafts Center will offer a smaller schedule of classes in fibers, glass, drawing, painting, jewelry and metal arts. We look forward to returning home to our beautifully renovated space in the Frank Thompson Building in 2009. The newly configured and outfitted studios in The Crafts Center will provide safer, more efficient, state-of-the-art working areas for a new generation of crafts students.

Holiday Crafts Fair & Sale – Don’t miss this annual event featuring work by The Crafts Centers’ own artists and craftspeople. This Crafts Fair happens each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving! Admission for NCSU students is free and $1/person or $2/family for non-students. Visit the Crafts Center website for more information.
