RADIOLOGY
Who Can Order X-rays?
Patients must be seen by a Student Health provider. Written orders
from private physicians are accepted. Charges for X-rays vary and
include the radiologist reading fee.
X-ray Report
X-rays are reviewed by the ordering Student Health provider and
then sent to an outside radiology consultant for “official”
reading. Patients must obtain results from their Student Health
provider.
Copies of Films
Original X-rays are retained for 10 years. Original X-rays are not
released, but copies can be made if needed by an outside provider.
There is a charge for copies.
LABORATORY
Tests Available
We have a full-service lab providing in-house testing for hematology,
urinalysis, microbiology and serology. Charges vary.
Lab tests not performed at Student Health are sent
to Rex Healthcare, Mayo Clinic or North Carolina State Laboratory
of Public Health.
Who Can Order Tests?
Student Health Services' providers and private physicians can order
tests. The results are given to the ordering physician. Patients
must obtain results from their Student Health provider.
