I brought my insurance card to the pharmacy but I am told it is not the right card. Why?
Most of the time there is a medical insurance card and a prescription card. If the insurance card has no information about prescriptions, there may a prescription card. The pharmacy will be looking for a BIN# and plan name. It is important to bring all insurance cards to the pharmacy so the correct information will be available.
May I transfer a prescription from another pharmacy?
Yes, as long as there are refills on the prescription. You will need to have the name of the drug store, prescription number, and name of medication. Call 919-515-5040 with this information for a phone refill or submit it online at HealthWeb - click on "Messages," then "New Messages," and "I want to request a prescription from the Pharmacy."
We do ask that you allow at least two hours to pick up the medication.
Can I return my medication if I don't need it?
Please understand....occasionally a pharmacist receives a request to return a prescription drug after it has left the pharmacy. The pharmacist has the responsibility to maintain certain standards of purity and safety of all prescription drugs dispensed. In order to insure that those standards are maintained, the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy recommends that a pharmacist decline to accept any prescription drug for return once it has left the pharmacy.
