SARS: If You Are Well
| Known
exposure to SARS |
If you are
not in Raleigh, and have had a known exposure to someone identified
as having SARS within the past 10 days, contact your personal
medical provider before travel to see if deferring travel is
recommended until the 10 day incubation period has passed. |
| No
kown exposure to SARS |
If you have traveled to
an area that has a SARS advisory or alert or have been exposed
to someone within the last 10 days confirmed or suspected with
SARS, and are ill with fever or respiratory symptoms, call a
medical provider immediately. To speak with staff at Student
Health Services, call 919.515.2563 and ask to speak with the
nurse supervisor. If there is a high suspicion of SARS, you
may be transported to a local emergency department. |
| If
you think you have SARS |
Call Student Health before
coming. When you arrive you will be given a mask and taken to
a waiting area away from other students. If there is a high
suspicion of SARS, you may be transported to a local emergency
department and receive consultation from the local health department. |
