The Pap smear, a cancer screening test used to identify abnormal cells or changes in the cervix, is part of the gynecology exam. The pelvic exam is also part of the gynecology exam and is done to determine size, shape and position of the uterus and ovaries. Testing for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) may be done during this exam.
