There are charges for pregnancy tests and emergency contraception medication.
Please call 919-515-5040 for current charges.
When to test
As early as 10 days after the most recent act of intercourse,
or on or after the day of the first missed period. The current pregnancy test used by Student Health
Services is very sensitive.
How to get the test
- Without appointment: Kits are available in the NCSU Student Health Pharmacy.
- By appointment: Online at HealthWeb or call 919-515-7762.
Negative test - If your pregnancy test is negative and you do not wish to become pregnant, you may make an appointment to discuss contraception options (birth control). Positive test - If your pregnancy test is positive, you will probably have questions, whether it is a planned or unplanned pregnancy. You may also be having some physical symptoms that you need to discuss with a healthcare provider.
If you plan to keep the pregnancy, you will need prenantal care. If you have insurance you can check with your insurance comopany to find a list of doctors in your area who deliver babies. They may be listed under gynecologist or obstetrician.
If you want to find out about other options for an unplanned pregnancy, such as abortion or adoption, there are a number of resources available in the Triangle area.
