Parking & Transportation

Summer Sessions parking is readily available. Vehicles must display an appropriate parking permit between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. All Summer Sessions permits are sold via online open sale by visiting the Transportation website. Instructions on the homepage will guide you through the application, purchase, and permit pickup process. Online payment enables you to purchase your parking permit from an off-site location prior to the beginning of the Summer Sessions.

  1. Permits are sold based on availability for each zone (to acquaint yourself with the various zones, click on the right side of Transportation's homepage - Maps).
  2. Permit costs are prorated based on the date purchased.
  3. Summer permits are valid for both sessions. Refunds are not available if a student elects to attend only one summer session.
  4. Permits are not required after 5:00 p.m. in any unreserved space/lot. No parking is allowed in "24 hour reserved," or accessibility spaces, fire lanes, or "no parking at any time" areas.

Students are strongly encouraged to join the Packparking Listserv (accessed through the website above) for the latest news and information about parking permits, construction projects, road closings and more.

Wolfline is NC State's own bus service. All buses are accessible and no fare is required to ride. Service frequency varies, but generally daytime service is available every 10-15 minutes. Wolfline buses run every day Summer Sessions classes are held and during exams. Wolfline provides intra-campus service, and service to the McKimmon Center, and park and ride lots. The Wolflink Shuttle, Southeast Loop and Vet School continue to operate every day that faculty and staff report to work. There is no bus service on official University Holidays. Please visit the Wolfline website for the most up-to-date information about park and ride lots and locations, bus routes and schedules.

You may park for free, with no permit required, in park and ride lots. However, overnight parking is not allowed. For the latest Wolfline news, join the Wolfline Listserv (accessed through the link above), contact 515-WOLF or the Transportation Office. Printed schedules are available prior to the start of the Summer Sessions at D.H. Hill Library, Talley Student Center, and Transportation Office located in the Administrative Services I, 2721 Sullivan Drive, 919.515.3424.
