The best way to get environmentally friendly and socially responsible supplies is to ask for them. The cost for most of these products is now comparable to conventional supplies. When requesting or purchasing office supplies here are some questions to consider before selecting a product:
1. Is the product made of recycled content such as 100% post-consumer-paper?
2. Are there refillable options such as for pens or print cartridges?
3. Is the product durable? Will it last a long time?
4. Can this product be recycled or reused
5. Are computers and electronics Energy Star?
6. Is the product locally made?
7. Are there equivalent options with less packaging?
