University Theatre staff will review your application as quickly as possible and in the order in which they are received and will notify you of request for interview or position opening status. PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT--We particularly need students with daytime availablity!
Primarily for client events in Stewart and Thompson Hall theatres. Events you might work include
concerts,
fashion shows, dance competitions and performances, lectures, meetings, recitals,
etc.
Daytime and evening/weekend hours. Update: 1/10/13 Stewart Theatre is closed for the Talley Student Center renovation. We have limited needs in the Thompson Hall theatre events.
University Theatre Technical Crew: Updated 1/10/13: If you have prior theatre experience, please contact David Jones with inquiries about a very limited number (+/- 5) of tech crew positions.
DOWNLOAD APPLICATION FOR TECH CREW
Assist in setup, operation and strike of a wide variety of events produced
by student organizations, campus groups and rental clients. Student technical
supervisors regularly manage all technical aspects of an event.
Applicants should have basic knowledge of theatrical lighting, live sound
operation, and/or backstage crew operations. Advanced lighting, sound and
crew training available and encouraged to advance to different levels of
technician for higher pay and additional responsibilities.
Students taking part in these positions will learn technical operations,
time management, staff management and customer service skills. You can email

University Theatre hires House Managers and Ushers to work in University
Theatre’s 3 venues. Events range from full-scale productions to departmental
lectures. The University Theatre house crew should be able to respond quickly
and courteously to patron issues, work in a team environment and have the
ability to make quick decisions with a good attitude.
House Managers supervise ushers and uphold University Theatre procedures. They are responsible for patron needs before, during and after an event. Ushers carry out the procedures outlined by University Theatre procedures and works with the House Manager to carry ensure patron satisfaction during any given event. University Theatre Scene Shop Assistant:
Assists the University Theatre staff in the fabrication and painting of scenery and props, load-in, strikes, and other general needs of the theater spaces. There are opportunities for individuals to focus on Set Construction, Props, and Scenic Art/Painting.
Skills/Experience required: Applicants should either have some previous shop/prop/paint experience of have taken Stagecraft. These positions require a general knowledge of the theater, dependability, attention to details, some familiarity with shop tools, a collaborative spirit, and a good attitude.
University Theatre Costume Shop Assistant
Assists the Costume Manager with the construction and preparation of costumes for University Theatre productions and general maintenance
of the costume shop and stock. Work with the Wardrobe Crew to maintain
and launder costumes. Contact Em Rossi
Skills/Experience required: Applicants should have a basic knowledge of hand
and machine stitching, have taken or be enrolled in Stagecraft, have a willingness
to
learn, attention to detail, strong communication skills, the desire to ask
questions and a drive to produce high quality work. Must be reliable and
posses a good attitude.
