Each year, University Theatre accepts proposals from experienced students who want to produce a student studio production. These productions require a strong commitment of time and organization.

What is Student Studio?

Student directed, student produced, student designed one-act plays that are performend in the Studio Theatre as part of our Spring season.  Interested?  Follow the link for more information, and to complete the proposal.  If you are chosen, you will enroll in a Theatre Practicum for the Spring Semester. Theatre Practicum (COM293) is a variable credit course for students interested in production-focused theatre training in various areas.

Are You A Directing Student?:

STUDENT STUDIO THEATRE PRACTICUM – Directing Focus: Work with an advisor on our directing staff, a student production manager and a production team to produce and direct a one-act play in the Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre (Spring Semester Only – Limited Enrollment, Proposal Required)

Are You A Design/Stagecraft Student?:  

STUDENT STUDIO THEATRE PRACTICUM – Production Focus: Design and Stagecraft students will work with an advisor, a student director and a production team to produce a one-act play in the Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre (Spring Semester Only- Limited Enrollment, Proposal Required)
