Additional training opportunities for ECI 210 students

You may choose to participate in professional development opportunities while you are in ECI 210 in order to supplement your learning and earn more training time for a pay raise next semester. Participating in these opportunities is not a requirement. If you choose to participate in ANY of the below options, you must notify your ECI 210 instructor by Thursday, June 5.

•  Record and evaluate a second tutoring session between July 28 - August 1. You will watch the session afterwards and complete an assessment form provided to you by your ECI 210 instructor. You must schedule this session with your instructor at least one week in advance, and the Tutorial Center staff will set up the camcorder.

•  Observe and evaluate the tutoring session of an experienced tutor. Your ECI 210 instructor will provide you with session times and locations to choose from. You must notify your instructor at least one week in advance of which session you will attend. You will complete an evaluation form during the session. You are also encouraged to discuss the session with the tutor afterwards.

•  Observe and evaluate an SI session. Session times and locations are posted on the SI website. Your ECI 210 instructor will provide the evaluation form you will use during the session. You are encouraged to discuss the session with the SI leader afterwards. (This is designed for tutors who are considering becoming SI leaders in the future.)

•  Visit each of the following: PMTC, CTC, Math Multimedia Center. Your instructor will provide a list of questions for you to answer about each location. (This is designed for tutors who have never visited these locations.)
