The Undergraduate Tutorial Center provides two types of individual tutoring by appointment. To use either program you must first attend a 20-minute orientation which explains the center's policies and allows you to submit an application. If you are new to the program, please schedule an orientation. Students who used individual tutoring in previous semesters may submit an online application.
Weekly assigned tutoring is for students who are willing to commit to being tutored two hours every week. This option gives students the advantage of meeting with the same tutor throughout the semester. Students may request a Weekly assigned tutor in one subject and a Sign-up tutor in one additional subject .
Sign-up tutoring is for students who want the flexibility to schedule appointments as needed. Sign-up tutors are generally the most experienced tutors that work for the Undergraduate Tutorial Center. Sign-up appointments are scheduled online once a current application is on file with the office.
IMPORTANT! Our research shows that students need to work with a tutor seven to twelve hours per semester in order to see a significant difference in course grade. Depending on the course and your level of preparation, you may need to spend more hours with a tutor.
