All COM courses required for completion of the Communication degree must be passed with a C- or better. A minimum COM GPA and Total GPA of 2.0 is required to be eligible for graduation.

1. History I. Two 200-level courses are required in History, one each from Groups I and II. History I includes: AFS 275 or 276, HI 207, 215, 216, 233, 263, 264,270, 275, or 276.

2. History II. HI 205, 208, 209, 210, 221, 222, 251, or 252.

7. Social Science. Four 3-credit courses from 3 different social sciences (9 hrs must be outside the student's major field of study). Choose 6 hours from GEP Social Science list.
8. Mathematics. Two courses (6 credits) in college-level mathematics on the University GEP Mathematics course list .
9. Departmental Restricted Elective. A 3-hour course from FL_202, COM 486, or PS 371.
10. Four courses must be taken from the Public and Interpersonal Communication list to satisfy the LCC concentration electives. At least one must be at the 400-level.

12. Twelve hours of LCC Concentration courses must be completed at the 300/400 level.
13. All COM courses must be completed with a grade of "C-" or higher even if taken as free electives, EXCEPT COM 437 and COM 496 (taken for S/U credit only).
14. Twelve hours of courses taken to fulfill the free elective requirement can be taken as S/U (satisfactory/unsatisfactory). 
15. Foreign Languages. a. Students with high school credit or other knowledge of French, German, Latin, or Spanish must take a placement test to determine the appropriate level for their first course. b. Students who place into FL_202 or above have me the language requirement and are eligible to receive 3 hours of advanced placement credit by enrolling in the course into which they are placed and earning a grade of “c-“ or better on the first attempt. c. FL_202 is recommended and will satisfy the Dept. Restricted Elective. FL_ 101 will not count toward graduation unless in a language other than the one used to fill the University’s FL_102 proficiency requirement. 

*General Education Program (GEP) requirements and GEP Footnotes:
To complete the requirements for graduation and the General Education Program, the following category credit hours and co-requisites must be satisfied.

    Choose from the University approved GEP Physical Education/Healthy Living course list.
