14. Foreign Languages. a. Students with high school credit or other knowledge of French, German, Latin, or Spanish must take a placement test to determine the appropriate level for their first course. b. Students who place into FL_202 or above have met the language requirement and are eligible to receive 3 hours of advanced placement credit by enrolling in the course into which they are placed and earning a grade of “C-“ or better on the first attempt. c. FL_202 is recommended and will satisfy the Dept. Restricted Elective. FL_ 101 will not count toward graduation unless in a language other than the one used to fill the University’s FL_102 proficiency requirement.
15. Departmental Restricted Elective. A 3-hour course from FL_202, COM 486, or PS 371.
