Major/Program Footnotes: Students must receive a C- or better in all courses used to satisfy requirements listed in notes 7-13. **An asterisked course may satisfy a requirement listed in notes 7-12 below only when its content is appropriate to that requirement. Appropriateness will be determined by the English Department, and changes to the degree audit will be made manually. 1 Foreign Language. Proficiency at the 201 level is required. a. Students with high school credit or other knowledge of French, German, Latin, or Spanish must take a placement test to determine the appropriate level for their first course. b. Students who place into FL _ 202 or above have met the language requirement and are eligible to receive 3 hours of advanced placement credit by enrolling in the course into which they are placed and earning a grade of “C-“ or better on the first attempt. c. FL 202 is recommended. NOTE: FL 101 will not count towards graduation unless in a language other than the one used to fill the University’s FL 102 proficiency requirement. 2 History Two 200-level courses are required in History, one each from Groups I and II. Group I: AFS 275, 276; HI 207, 215, 216, 233, 263, 264, 270, 275, 276. Group II: HI 205, 208, 209, 210, 221, 222, 251, 252. 3 Math Choose 6 hours from the GEP Mathematical Sciences list (at least one with MA or ST prefix) 4 Social Science Four 3-credit courses from at least three of the following areas: ANT, ARE, EC, PS, PSY, SOC. Also EDP 304, ENG 210, GEO 220, and IDS 401. LTN majors must take EDP 304 and at least one other course from the GEP Social Sciences list. 12 credits. 5 Philosophy. One 3-credit PHI course from the approved GEP Humanities list. 6 Literature I. One three-credit course from the following list: ENG/ FL 219, 220, 221, 222, 394**; ENG 251, 261, 262, 362, 363, 385, 390, 439, 449, 451, 452, 453, 462, 463, 486, 487, 490, 491**, 497 7 Literature II.
