GPA Graduation Requirements:
Overall GPA for all courses attempted at NC State must be 2.0 or higher; and
Overall GPA for all EC and ECG courses attempted at NC State must be 2.0 or higher.

1. "C-" or better in ENG 101 (or ENG 113) is required.

2. The calculus requirement may be met by either of two sequences: MA 131,132 and MA 231 or MA 141 and 241.
Students who choose the second sequence are strongly encouraged to take MA 242, which may substitute for MA 114.

3. PEC, PEF, PEH, PEO, and PES courses cannot be taken to satisfy this requirement. (PE courses may be taken credit only.)

4. Select 15 hours from GER Natural Science courses. One of the following two course sequences must be included among the four courses (where labs have separate numbers they are given in parenthesis and must be taken):(i)CH 101 (102) & 201 (202); (ii) MEA 101 (110) & 102 (111); (iii) BIO 181, 183; PY 201 & 202 or PY 205 & 208 or PY 211 & 212; ZO 160 & any 200-level ZO course.

5. EC 201 or ARE 201 may substitute.

6. Choose two courses from the GEP Humanities list from two different subject areas.

7. MA 242 may substitute.

8. One course from the GEP Social Sciences list.

9. Take one from the GEP Additional Breadth- Humanities/Social Sciences/Visual Performing Arts list.

10. ST 302, 361, 370, and 372 may substitute for BUS/ST 350.

11. Some courses will not count as free electives, such as FL 101, or 105 (in the language in which proficiency requirement is met), or MA 101, 103, 105, 107, 108, or 111. (12 hours of free electives may be taken for credit only.)

12. Any MA course at the 200 level or higher, ST course at the 400 level or higher, BUS 455 or EC 480.

13. Choose from: ENG 331, 332, or 333.

14. Economics electives may be chosen from 300 and 400 level. EC courses (except EC/ARE 401) and 500 level ECG courses. At least 6 hours must be at the 400 or 500 level.

15. Take one from the GEP Interdisciplinary Perspectives list.

16. Students are urged to discuss these courses with their adviser and to consider using these electives to pursue a minor. 15 hours chosen from any university course offerings except FL 101 or105 (in the language in which proficiency requirement is met), or MA 101, 103, 105, 107, 108, or 111, or PE/PEH courses. (NOTE: Certain courses may not be taken in combination with other courses of similar content. SEE CATALOG FOR RESTRICTIONS.)

17. Honors students should take EC 490H in the fall semester.

18. 1 hour of physical education at the 100 level. (PE 101 through 109 will satisfy this requirement.)
