Students enrolled in the Natural Resources, Ecoysystem Assessment curriculum must follow the curriculum and make reasonable progress towards the degree

b. Achieve foreign language proficiency at the FL_102 level.

Footnotes:

1. Students with appropriate skills are encouraged to take the math sequence MA 141-241. Credit earned in MA 107, MA 108, or MA 111 does not apply toward the minimum of 127 credit hours required for graduation. Credit for MA 114- MA 121 is allowed when presented by transfer students.

2. Two semesters of physical education are required for graduation. At least one course must fulfull the Fitness and Wellness requirement (any PE course at the 100-level). Students may elect S/U grading for all PE courses.

3. A professional development program is integrated into the curriculum that consists of a required summer work experience between the junior and senior years and two professional development courses. Students who take NR 301 in the junior year will prepare for the NR 360 and seek a summer job for the following summer and will participate in presentations made by seniors enrolled in NR 401 that focus on the previous summer's work experience. A member of the teaching faculty will assist students in finding an appropriate summer job. NR 401 for the seniors will consist of written and oral reports on summer work experiences and professional development activities.

4. 12 credit hours of humanities/social sciences electives, distributed as shown below, must be selected from the university lists at :http://www.ncsu.edu/uap/academic-standards/ger/ratobj.html

  1. History or literature - 6 credit hours in any combination of history or literature courses
  2. Philosophy, religion, or visual or performing arts - 3 credit hours
  3. Course from any humanities/social science list - 3 credit hours
  4. At least one humanities/social sciences elective course that focuses on a non-English speaking culture (noted by * in the university lists). The selected course may also satisfy a humanities/social sciences requirement.

5. Technical Electives - 20 credit hours: select 14 credit hours from the biological sciences courses and 6 credit hours from the management sciences courses. Select at least one course from each of the biological sciences categories. Take note of prerequisite courses to the technical electives when planning your course schedule.
