8-3a COMPUTING SERVICES
All students at NC State receive computing privileges on Unity, the university's campus wide Unix based distributed computing environment. Unity computing accounts (or Eos accounts for Engineering students), login IDs and passwords are automatically generated for all new students when they register for classes. Unity/Eos accounts include 20 megabytes of network file space, an e mail address, access to Unity labs and software, and the World Wide Web.
Unity e mail addresses are in the form loginID@unity.ncsu.edu NC State e mail addresses and student login IDs may be found online by searching the Student/Faculty/Staff phone directory, off the university's home page, or by calling a Computing Services consultant at 515 HELP(4357). Currently, there are seven Unity computing labs; more are being planned for the near future. These labs are supported by Computing Services and may be used by all NC State students, faculty, and staff with valid Unity/Eos accounts:

Unity Lab information and schedules are available online at the URL http://www2.ncsu.edu/ncsu/cc/pub/CC_facilities.html In addition, many colleges and departments on campus offer computing labs and resources specifically for students enrolled in their programs.
