9-5.2 APARTMENTS

The University owns and operates 295 apartments at E.S. King Village and 118 efficiency units at the Avent Ferry Complex. E. S. King Village is operated as a family housing community, while the Avent Ferry Complex efficiencies are designed for single graduate and upperclass students.

E. S. King Village staff and the Village Council implement programs and activities for students, spouses, and children. Recreational areas, playground equipment, and other facilities exist to support the family community.

Eligibility to live in E.S. King Village is contingent upon being a full time student at NC State, and one of the following: married and living with a spouse and/or children; a single parent living with a child or children; graduate student; or nontraditional undergraduate student.

Avent Ferry Complex includes 230 traditional rooms and 118 efficiency units. The facilities have been renovated extensively, with new furnishings, group kitchens, laundry facilities, and other amenities. The efficiency units contain kitchenettes and are available for nine  or twelve  month leases. All rooms at the Avent Ferry Complex are wired to the University standard, enabling residents to access the University Computer Network. First priority for the Avent Ferry Complex efficiency units go to graduate students, with other available spaces assigned to upperclass students.
