
Student authors may choose
one of eight categories in which to designate their research projects:
1. Applied Sciences (Crop, Poultry, Animal, and
Horticultural Sciences)
2. Molecular, Biochemical, Genetics, Cell Biology
3. Zoology, Physiology, Behavior, Neurobiology
4. Ecology, Environmental, Conservation, Botanical
In each category, a team of faculty judges will select
the most outstanding projects for special recognition. Student authors whose
projects are selected will receive a certificate of recognition from Sigma Xi
and will be recognized at the Sigma Xi awards banquet on Tuesday evening, April
22. The authors will also be cited at the University Honors Convocation.
Students who present outstanding contributions will be strongly encouraged to
offer their research papers in other appropriate forums.
Please note: The projects in a category will
be judged on the quality of the work and presentation, not on how well the work
relates to the designated category.
Award for Best Poster on Materials
Research
at the NC
An award for Best
Poster on Materials Research will be presented to an outstanding poster
that describes innovative materials research in a high quality and
well-organized poster presentation at the NC State Undergraduate Research
Symposium. The officers of the Materials Research Society NCSU Student Chapter
will judge the posters, and the award will include a certificate and $100. The
winner will also be recognized at the Sigma Xi awards banquet on Tuesday
evening, April 22.
