Helpful Courses and Workshops...
  • Undergraduate and Graduate Students: You are invited to attend a workshop entitled: "How to Make An Effective Research Poster Presentation", held on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, from 3:30-5:00 in Harrelson 307.  Dr. George Hess, Associate Professor in Forestry who teaches a course on poster making,  will conduct the workshop. He will discuss the "nuts and bolts" of making a poster presentation and display some examples of already completed posters. If you are going to be making a poster presentation at any upcoming conferences, including, but not limited to the NC State Undergraduate Research Symposium on April 28, 2005, or even if you are not presenting now,  but think you may in the future, this workshop will be VERY helpful!  Registration is required. You may register on-line at:

  • Dr. George Hess short (5 week) course on creating scientific posters
In the course, I teach techniques for effective communication using
a poster. Each student will develop a poster describing his or her
research, so students should have research results that they want
to report. Details on the web site at: http://courses.ncsu.edu/for610e/common/
