You should first consider Summer Research Experience (SRE) Programs at NC State. A second option is to consider becoming an exchange student for one year, especially if you have a research interest that matches that of a mentor and you both agree to a scholarly program that includes transferable course credit hours back to your home institution. The research hours may also be transferable. It is important that your academic dean and registrar approve of your plan for off-campus studies so that our credits may transfer and support your graduation requirements
