NSF
Sustainability, Energy, and Engineering (SEE)
About
the Program: The NSF “SEE” program provides a
10-week “Research Experience for Undergraduates” (REU) for a cross section of
students from around the country. We
are proud to have the following departments directly contributing to the
“Sustainability, Energy, and Engineering” (SEE) REU program: Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering;
Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering; Textiles Engineering; and
Wood & Paper Science. These are
just a few examples of what to expect from the program:
·
Hands
on lab research with one-on-one attention from a research mentor
·
Exposure
to environmentally conscious manufacturing and green processing technologies
·
Valuable
insider information about the Graduate School process
·
The
opportunity to present your findings at a research symposium
·
Ethics
Seminars covering: Research Ethics, Environmental Ethics and Moral Problems in
Engineering Practice
Program Activities: All work and no fun makes for a dull summer, so there will be
opportunities to meet other REU students and attend social functions. In
addition, students accepted into the program will receive a research stipend,
plus room & board, and travel expense reimbursement. For application
materials, please visit the website.
