DUAP Assessment
The Office
of Assessment is responsible for providing assessment support for the
following academic programs in the Division of Undergraduate Academic
Programs (DUAP).
Academic
Support Program for Student Athletes (ASPSA)
The ASPSA program provides academic and personal assistance for NC State University
student athletes. The program focuses on academic advising and support as well
as retention of student athletes. More information about their assessment plans

Advising
Central
Advising Central provides academic information through virtual and face-to-face
cross-curricular advising for undergraduate students and serves as a resource
for faculty, staff and advisers regarding NC State Academic policies and general
advising practices.
Cooperative
Education
The Cooperative Education Program is designed to enhance NC State
students' learning by offering opportunities to combine academic study
with related, work-based learning. The co-op program works to provide on
campus interviews and career fairs to assist students in finding an appropriate

Fellowship
Advising Office
FAO supports NC State students and alumni in regional, national,
and international fellowship competitions, assists faculty in furthering
these endeavors, and enhances the value of the experience for all. In addition,
FAO fosters relationships with Trusts, Foundations, and granting entities
to ensure that NC State's reputation evidences today's institution and
people. FAO identifies, recruits, and supports students through the fellowship
application process. The office also offers guidance in researching potential
sources of funding, establisthing a strategic plan, developing proposals,
crafting effective applications, and preparing for interviews.
First
Year College
The First Year College is designed for first year undecided students
to help their transition to an academic setting and the selection of a
major. The program provides one-on-one advising, teaching and experiential
learning, emphasis on the theoretical and practical methods of inquiry,
guided reflection, assessment, and analysis. For more information about

First
Year Inquiry
The First Year Inquiry Program is intended for first year incoming
students at NC State. The program offers small courses, promotes active
learning and close relationship among students and professors, and helps
students develop critical reading, writing, and discussion skills. This
combination helps students with the transition into their academic career.

Honors
Program
The Honors Program provides a learning community that promotes
intellectually rigorous academic studies, research, creativity, and cross-disciplinary
approaches to learning. Classes are typically small and help prepare students
for success in their future academic pursuits with many special opportunities

New
Student Orientation (NSO)
New Student Orientation (NSO) coordinates NC State University's
collective efforts to provide programs and services to newly admitted first
year and transfer undergraduate students. Orientation prepares students
for education opportunities as well as on campus community engagement.
Through the academic year, NSO also works with various campus partners
to provide diverse academic opportunities that foster student success.

Transition
Program
The Transition Program is a one year program designed to assist a select cohort
of students in their first year at NC State. The program also develops and evaluates
support systems for these students as well as providing academic advising and

Undergraduate
Tutorial Center
The Undergraduate Tutorial Center (UTC) provides a variety of
tutorial services that promote undergraduate students' academic achievement.
The Center also hires and trains students to work as undergraduate peer
tutors and is certified by the College, Reading, and Learning Association
(CRLA). UTC also works to develop partnerships across the campus to explore

Undergraduate
Research
The Office of Undergraduate Research supports and promotes undergraduate
opportunities in discovery-, inquiry- and creativity-based scholarship
through mentored research experiences with NC State faculty and national
