Tag along with a group of NC State students over spring break and you'll come away energized and optimistic about the future - and more than a little surprised at the places you've gone.
You may have spent a week in Guatemala's central mountains, caring for abandoned children with chronic illnesses at Hermano Pedro Hospital. Or slept on a cot at "Camp Hope" on the outskirts of New Orleans after working all day to help repair a young family's storm-damaged home. Or shared a desk with a youngster in a classroom on the Navajo reservation in Tuba City, Arizona, helping her master science, mathematics and English.
There's a culture of service at NC State that connects us to the world. Our Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service is just one of a dozen programs that give our faculty, staff and students a way to channel their idealism and energy into positive action.
