2009 Outstanding Senior Awards
Three University Scholars Program engineering students received Outstanding Senior Awards at the 2009 Engineers' Council Annual Awards Banquet on April 21.These awards are presented each year to outstanding seniors who are nominated by their academic departments. The 2009 winners, with category and nominating department:

Leadership — Dane Grismer, Paper Science and Engineering
Citizenship and Service — Anna Godwin, Textile Engineering
Humanities — Joshua Harris, Materials Science and Engineering

CSLEPS 2009 Visionary Leaders
In Spring 2009 the following University Scholars were awarded "Visionary Leaders Certificates" from the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, & Public Service. These students completed a series of 10 Leadership workshops, a minimum of 20 hours of community service and created a leadership portfolio:
