Study Abroad Credit
University Scholars who participate in NC State OR Non-NC State Study Abroad Programs may use a total of six (6) of these hours in partial fulfillment of the USP course requirements.

  • NC STATE STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS: Recognition for completion of an NC State course while participating in an NC State Study Abroad program will be given upon successful completion of the course. These courses show on the student's transcript as regular courses with a special "Study Abroad" notation. Example:

    STUDY ABROAD – AUSTRIA

    NOTE: COURSES NOT PRE-APPROVED FOR NCSU CREDIT- Some NC State Study Abroad Programs (including the USP program in Florence, Italy) allow students to take non-NCSU courses.  If a course has NOT been pre-approved for NCSU credit it will NOT automatically appear on your NCSU transcript. If you wish to receive NCSU credit for one of these courses, you need to seek approval from your department/college to receive transfer credit for the course.

  • NON-NC STATE STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS: Students who participate in a Non-NC State study abroad program  must seek approval from your department/college to receive transfer credit for the courses you take.  When those courses appear on your NCSU transcript you will automatically receive up to six (6) credit hours of USP
