Scholarships
NC State strives to provide financial assistance to students for their college expenses.   Many students are rewarded with scholarships. NC State offers numerous special scholarships based on both demonstrated need and academic performance. Any domestic applicant who files the FAFSA by March 1 will automatically be considered for need-based scholarships. Domestic freshmen applicants who wish to be considered for merit-based scholarships must submit their application for undergraduate admission by November 1.  Contact the University's Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid for more information.

The Park Scholarship Program funded by the Park Foundation of Ithaca, NY in honor of NC State graduate Roy H. Park '31, is one of the nation's premiere independent undergraduate scholarship programs.  Students who meet the criteria defined by this program are endorsed by their high schools and invited to apply for Park Scholarships. Students must submit a complete application for admission by November 1.

The Caldwell Scholarship Program is funded by the NC State Alumni Association as a tribute to John Tyler Caldwell, former Chancellor of NC State.  First year students apply for the Caldwell Scholarships after they have completed their first semester at NC State.

The General Hugh Shelton Leadership Initiative Scholarships are awarded to deserving students to promote the mission of the initiative, "to inspire, educate and develop value-based leaders committed to personal integrity, professional ethics, and selfless service." Criteria include outstanding leadership, character and community service.

The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program awards 400 talented North Carolina high school seniors with $6,500 per year toward their college education. In exchange, the students are obligated to either teach one year in a public school in North Carolina for each year they received a Teaching Fellows Award, or repay the full $26,000 award in cash. NC State accepts up to 40 freshmen Teaching Fellows in each incoming class.
