Historical Project Investigators:
Miriam G. Ferzli:
Was a Post-doctoral Fellow in science education with the Department
of Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education at NC State University.
Miriam has a Ph.D. in Science Education, a Master's degree in the
biological sciences, a B.S. degree in biology, and a B.A. degree
in English. Her research merged these diverse areas by linking science,
writing, and learning to the role scientific thinking and writing
played in the conceptual understanding of science and technology.
Her role was to develop, research, and test curriculum materials
in collaboration with the PI's.
Julie H. Petlick:
Was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Mathematics, Science,
and Technology Education at NC State University. She has a Ph. D.
in Psychology with a focus in the area of learning and cognition.
Her research interests included the role of technology in learning,
and the use of technology to accommodate perceptual learning style
preferences. Her role was to develop, research, and test curriculum
materials in collaboration with the PI's.
Rachel
McBroom:
Was a Ph.D. candidate in science education in the Department of
Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education at NC State University.
Rachel has B.S. degrees in both chemistry and science education,
as well as, a master's in science education. As a Research Associate
with the VisTE project, her role was to use her background in science
education to develop curriculum materials in collaboration with
the PI's.
