Sunday, May 25 - Catherine saw a dinner plate size snapping turtle in North Creek between samplers 2 and 3

Monday, May 26 - Catherine saw a large black snake in North Creek near sampler 2 (she ran)

Tuesday, May 27 - Joe P and Mike S flushed a deer out of Yates Mill Phase I site

Monday, June 2 - 20 female goats moved in to a field near Research IV on the banks of North Creek

Tuesday, June 3 - Paige R. saw a large black snake outside the goat fence

Wednesday, June 4 - Catherine, Mike, and Paige preyed upon Kripsy Kreeme like a pack of lions just before surveying Long Leaf in Wilmington

Thursday, June 5 - Joe P. was dragged down the hill by a goat when he was attempting to capture the goat for hoof treatment. There was no physical damage to either Joe or the goat. Catherine W. was collecting samples from the flowmeter when she came across a fawn curled up on the bench of North Creek.

Monday, June 9 - Dale saw a deer while on a trip with Dan

Tuesday, June 10 - Mike and Joe saw a snake at Pine Valley during the survey. Joe and Paige saw a rabbit. The rabbit came within 5 ft of Joe. Several of the team saw turtles.

Tuesday, June 24 - Dale crossed paths with the Lochness Monster in the Little River near Vass. Isaac saw two red-bellied water snakes at Yates Mill and after a short stalking incident on the part of the snakes, he promptly fled the area.

Wednesday, June 25 - The students saw 3 deer at Yates Mill while planting 700 trees.

Thursday, June 26 - Mike and Joe saw a doe on Centennial Campus.

Monday, June 30 - Paige and Mike saw a raccoon in Kinston while surveying. Joe and Dale played with a copperhead while checking sampler boxes. Catherine saw a rabbit cross Research Dr.

Monday, July 28 - Dale saw a black widow in a sampler box. Mike, Joe, and Paige were deterred at the Yates Mill entrance by a black rat snake.

Tuesday, July 29 - Dale saw a turtle turtle.
