The Sophomore Experience Program

The Sophomore Experience strives to provide students with programs designed especially for their sophomore year. Sophomores participate in activities related to their majors and engage in programs focused on meeting the needs of upper-class students. Students choose projects that focus on undergraduate research, leadership development, K-12 service or a combination of topics. WISE staff meets individually with each sophomore to provide guidance throughout the year.

WISE continues its mentoring project with students from the North Carolina School of Science & Math. WISE sophomores serve as mentors to help encourage high school junior and senior women to enter STEM fields.

WISE sophomores also participate in the general WISE events throughout the year as well as some that are specific to sophomores.
