Why Choose WISE?

Service NC State 2011

The WISE Village offers a variety of benefits for first and second-year female students. In addition to living on the same floors in Lee Hall, participants are also provided with upper-class resident mentors. The WISE Village plans social, educational, and cultural activities to help residents interact with each other and develop a sense of community while exploring some of the opportunities available to them at NC State.

WISE Activities:

"WISE Wednesday," a monthly evening social hour (usually the last Wednesday of the month), brings residents together for a fun study break and a chance to enjoy good food and good company. Throughout the year, seminars, cultural trips, industry visits and other opportunities are offered to help participants expand their horizons. In addition, village residents can participate in community service and K-12 outreach programs. The WISE Speaker Series offers residents a look at the lives of successful female professional engineers, scientists, and mathematicians. The WISE program allows women scientists and engineers the opportunity to network with each other in the classroom and beyond. And we have fun! What more could you ask for in a college experience?
