BACKGROUND
Dr. Stewart founded the Wood
Machining & Tooling Research Program in
1991.
His vision was to establish a research facility that would
work closely with
the wood products industry to conduct
applied research as well as to transfer technology
from other manufacturing industries.
In addition the WMTRP would train personnel in
the latest manufacturing technologies
through workshops, seminars, and distance
learning techniques.
His areas of expertise include machine dynamics, high speed
machining, tool wear, and thin kerf
sawing.
