The WMTRP has been fortunate to receive several
major equipment donations the last two years. This includes a CNC router
from Accu-Router. This router is considered one of the fastest routers
commercially available. This complements the previous donation from Thermwood of one of the most
versatile routers available (see
facilities and capabilities).
Another donation that will be of benefit to the WMTRP and
the Wood Science
Program is acquisition
of a state-of-the-art wide belt sander from Costa. This
sander will be of great benefit to the abrasive machining
research of the
WMTRP.
These two recent acquisitions mean that in just the last
several years the Hodges
Wood Products Laboratory in which the WMTRP is housed
has been the
beneficiary of donations and improvements totaling over a million
dollars.
