What does M+ Guardian mean for you as a GroupWise customer?
- You will receive a daily Quarantine Report alerting you when suspected spam, viruses, or forbidden attachments have been intercepted.
- Your email will be scanned for viruses before it ever gets to your inbox.
- Email attachments that are commonly used to carry viruses and worms will no longer show up in your inbox.
- You will be able to maintain a "Allow list" of senders from whom you always wish to receive email and a "Block list" of senders from whom you never wish to receive email.
- The amount of unsolicited commercial email (commonly referred to as spam) that you receive will be drastically reduced.
- You and all other GroupWise customers will be protected from information gathering and exploitation techniques frequently used by hackers.
Features of the Daily Quarantine Report:
- The daily report will only show the SPAM from the previous 24 hours.
- With the new way that SPAM will be stored, it is no longer necessary to delete your SPAM on a daily basis. To delete SPAM, you must login via the Web interface. If it is not deleted manually, SPAM will automatically expire and delete every 14 days.
- You may manage your Trusted(Allowed)/Blocked lists using the Allow/Block buttons and the Allow Domain/Block Domain buttons on the Daily Quarantine Report. To manually add an address or domain to the Trusted(Allowed)/Blocked lists, you must login via the Web Quarantine interface at https://gwspam.ncsu.edu/.

M+Guardian Enhancements
There are a number of aesthetic and functional enhancements with the upgrade to M+Guardian.
- Where's the delete button in my daily quarantine report? Quarantined items are sorted by filter type (Spam, Viruses, Files or Content).
- Files - Contains emails quarantined due to forbidden file attachments. A blocked file attachment is any file type that is identified as a threat by the system administrator.
- Content - Contains emails quarantined due to forbidden content. Forbidden content is any type of prohibited content containing words or expressions that the system administrator has bannned.
- Quarantine report options
To customize how you receive notifications for quarantined spam or messages containing viruses, log in to your M+ Guardian account using your WolfWise username/password at http://gwspam.ncsu.edu and click Preferences. You'll be able to choose either "No Report" or "Default." The Default setting will set your account to receive a daily email entitled "OIT Spam Reporter" listing your newly quarantined messages at 6 a.m. every day. We recommend retaining the default setting and reviewing your spam report daily for false positives unless you prefer another method of checking your quarantined messages.
- Allow - Adds that address or domain to your Allow list. Future messages from addresses in your Allow list will be delivered directly to your GroupWise mailbox.
- Customers can now view the contents of messages in their quarantine.
- Quarantine Reports now only consist of new SPAM and virus activity. There is no longer an accumulative section.
- Manage SPAM directly from GroupWise using an IMAP account.
- One of the most exciting features of the M+Guardian upgrade is the ability to access your live quarantine from within your GroupWise mailbox by creating an IMAP account. From this IMAP account you can do the following:
- View a message to determine if it is legitimate by double clicking on it.
- Release a legitimate message from quarantine by dragging it from your quarantine folder to your active mailbox.
- Delete one or more messages from your quarantine by selecting the message and pressing the delete key.
