Shannon came to the Women's Center in September, 2005. Although new to us, she is a veteran with women and gender issues. Shannon spent nine years at Duke University and was the Program Coordinator for their Women's Center. She received her bachelor's degree in social sciences from NC State and returned to NC State where she is pursuing her doctoral degree in higher education. Shannon said this is like "coming home" for her and she is excited to part of the NC State community.

Nikki Curliss has worked in student affairs for over thirteen years, including the past nine of which were working with college women leaders. She has coordinated leadership development programs, advised student groups, worked as a career counselor, and managed campus residence halls. She has a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from Clemson University and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Toledo. She joined the Women's Center in August 2009 working on coordinating and developing programs for students on campus.

Juliette joined the Women’s Center in February 2007. She has been working to end sexual and relationship violence for over twelve years, both on a college campus and at a community rape crisis center. She received her undergraduate degree in sociology and women’s studies at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and will graduate in May 2007 from UNC Chapel Hill’s Masters in Public Health program. Juliette’s parents say that she has been a feminist and social justice advocate since she came out of the womb! She was born in Paris and speaks French fluently. She grew up in Newton, MA, is a newlywed, and is very excited to make NC State her new home. |

Originally from California, Lois and her family moved to her husband's home town of Raleigh in 1989. She began working at NC State in 1991 and found her way to the Women's Center in October of 2002. When she isn't working, Lois takes classes and.when time permits, enjoys cooking and various crafts. When a student suggested a knitting class, Lois decided to sit in for a few nights and has been in the class ever since. She has a new granddaughter, so there is lots to knit!

Tricia is a native of Rockville, MD and has been in North Carolina since August 2008 when she moved here to attend UNC-Chapel Hill's graduate social work program. She is in her second year of her MSW program and very excited to work with the Student Bridges leadership program as well as advising the Alternative Service Break trip in March to Guatemala. She graduated from the University of MD - College Park with degrees in Family Sciences and Criminology/Criminal Justice. There, Tricia was very involved extracurricularly with ASB, The Vagina Monologures, and UMD's own peer education group. She is glad to have found similar projects to work with at NCSU's Women's Center.

Andrea is a senior majoring in Women and Gender Studies with a minor in Social Work. In addition to being at NC State, Andrea works at Sushi Blues Cafe. In her spare time she volunteers at Vintage 21 working with pre-K children. Her favorite past times are working our and watching The Office.

Regina is in the Social Work program. She is from Cliffside, North Carolina and has been working at the Women’s Center since fall semester of 2006. She has a passion for helping others and for social issues. She is a founding member of The Movement and is currently their treasurer. When she isn't at NC State, she enjoys spending time with her new nephew, Eli.

Maria is a majoring in psychology. She is from Charlotte, North Carolina and has a passion for many social issues. Maria joined the Women’s Center shortly after arriving at NC State as she felt compelled to help women. When she isn't working in the Women's Center or studying for classes, one of Maria's favorite things to do is shopping - particularly at the mall where there are so many stores.

Ranata is currently a junior in communication with a focus in media and a minor in Spanish. In the future, Ranata wishes to help as many people as possible, and make the world a better place. When she isn't in class or at the Women's Center, Rantata is the program intern at the Eastern NC Make a Wish Foundation and volunteers regularly with children who have English as a second language. |

Skye is majoring in Social Work with a minor in Political Science. She is originally from England, and has lived in NC for 14 years. She is very close to her 3 younger sisters and her younger brother and believes family is the most important aspect of her life. She spends her spare time volunteering at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Programs and hopes to make a big difference in her Little’s life. She hopes to work more with sexual & relationship violence in her time here. After graduation, Skye plans to attend law school and work with foster care and adoption cases. |

The Women's Center is fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers that work with us on specific programs and with the Molly Hays Glander Advocate Rape and Sexual Assault Response Line. Our student staff and our volunteers are the heart of the office. |
