Activism
Activism in the Women's Center has taken several forms, including:
organizing and leading the Take Back the Night march and rally,
getting changing tables in the restrooms (both women’s and men’s) in the student centers,
campaigning for quality childcare on or near campus (still a long way to go),
implementing pay equity bake sales that demonstrate the difference in pay for women and men,
sending students to a national march on women’s rights, and
advocating for survivors of rape and sexual assault.
To find out how you can become involved, stop by the Women's Center. Also consider getting involved with community, national, and international organizations who organize activist events around a variety of issues. Take a stand on an issue and act on it in order to make a difference!
