For at least 15 years (that we know of!), staff from campus-based Women’s Centers in the Southeast decided to meet annually to get together and connect, recharge, and refuel.  This small group of women – primarily Directors – met informally during a one-day gathering to share ideas and best practices.  Over the years the event has grown to include over 35 women in various positions within Women’s Centers from across the Southeast and throughout the country.  This year we, the meeting co-hosts, invite you to join us as we get “Back to Our Roots,” by having a very casual gathering.  We look forward to (re)connecting with you while keeping the agenda informal and self-directed.

Please invite as many of your staff as can attend.  This gathering is intended for everyone.  We want to include a contingent of folks who work with interpersonal violence issues (in women’s centers or in other campus offices), our administrative staff, and community colleges with a women’s center or considering the addition of such an office – if there’s enough interest, we may even have a breakout session for these areas.  Student staff and interns are welcome, too!

We look forward to seeing you in June!
Chimi Boyd (Director, NCCU Women’s Center)
and
Shannon Johnson (Director, NC State Women’s Center)
