Representatives from the following agencies will be present: NC Emergency Management; Progress Energy; NC Institute for Public Health, UNC Chapel Hill; NC DENR Division of Land Resources; NC DENR Division of Water Resources, NC Dept. of Transportation and Army Corps of Engineers.

    This panel discussion will address disaster preparedness from a local perspective. Local governments will be represented. Jack Moyer, URS Corporation, formerly City of Raleigh Deputy Public Works Director will open this session with a presentation on “Preparedness for Local Government after 9-11 and Katrina”. The panel will begin discussion after the presentation.

Bob Griffin, Shield Engineering, will begin with a presentation on “ Performing a Vulnerability Assessment and Developing an Emergency Response Plan Using VSAT™ Software.” The panel will begin discussion after the presentation.
