Fall 2009 Erosion and Sedimentation Control Planning and Design Workshops: Agenda
November 4-5, 2009
Crowne Plaza Hickory (formerly Holiday Inn Select)
Hickory, NC
Purpose: This workshop is structured to educate and familiarize design professionals with the NC Sedimentation Pollution Control Act (SPCA), the rules implementing the Act, design standards for erosion and sedimentation control BMPs, and elements that are necessary to submit an erosion control plan. This comes to you directly from the source—the NC Division of Land Resources Land Quality Section and its partners providing you with the information you need to submit an erosion control plan and prevent pollution by sedimentation.
Workshop Objectives:
- Learn about amendments to the Sedimentation Pollution Control Act in 2009
- Gain knowledge on some of the latest research on erosion control BMPs
- Familiarize yourself with elements needed to design an erosion control plan from understanding the watershed to selecting sediment control measures.
- Receive updates on stormwater management issues
- Become aware of certification opportunities
Credits: 12 PDHs will be available to professional engineers and land surveyors, and 10 continuing education hours for landscape architects upon completion of one of these workshops. Please provide your license number on registration form.
