On Saturday, April 12th, the College of Design community gathered at the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary to honor Capitol Broadcasting CEO Jim Goodmon for his innovative approach to preserving architectural treasures and renewing urban environments. (Watch the tribute video to Jim Goodmon on Capitol Broadcasting Company’s award announcement Web page.)Also during the evening, 60th Anniversary Committee Chair Walt Teague announced the kick-off of the College of Design’s year-long 60th anniversary celebration and Dean Marvin Malecha recognized alumnus Douglas M. Brinkley with a Wings on Wings Award for his many contributions to the life of the college.
