Interview & Portfolio Pointers | ![]() |
Tips directly from current scholars!“Before you interview, be sure to review and analyze your design process and how you work. The journey to the final product is just as important, it not more, than the product itself. I would have documentation of your design process for at least one of your designs on hand in your interview…Be open to critique and improvement; school is for learning, that’s why we’re here. You’re not expected to know everything…I encourage you to succeed, but I also encourage you to fail, take risks, and experiment. These failures can help you grow as a designer…What you put into the Anni Albers Program is exactly what you’ll get out of it; take advantage of the amazing resources the colleges of design and textiles have to offer with professors, facilities, and your peers because before you know it, you’ll be graduated.” Meghan Holliday, 2009. Portfolio Criteria8-1/2" x 11" color photocopies of artwork. Applicant's name, address and telephone number on the back of each photocopy. When photographing work, move in close so artwork fills the camera frame. Photographs of artwork must be clear, in focus and taken in a well-lit environment. Dark or out -of-focus copies will not be reviewed. Copies of photographs of artwork can be made with a color copier. |
