The Universal Design File chapters are stored in Adobe's portable
document format (PDF). To view and print the chapters, you will need to download Adobe's Acrobat Reader. You may need to download version 3.0 or higher if you have an earlier version installed.
For the browsers that have this capability, you will need to manually configure your browser once Acrobat Reader is installed onto your computer. It is a matter of configuring your MIME settings. You can find simple directions to setup viewing PDFs at the following Adobe Support pages:
Download a PDF to your hard drive
Once Acrobat Reader is installed onto your computer, you will be automatically prompted to save the file when you click on a PDF link.
Adobe has developed a method of converting PDF to HTML and ASCII as a free service. To find out more, go to access.adobe.com or choose one of the options below. Use a form or e-mail to submit a URL to access.adobe.com
You submit the URL of a PDF document to adobe.access.com through your Web browser. The converted document is then returned immediately to your browser window. Or you can submit the URL of any PDF document on the web to either of two e-mail addresses at adobe, for HTML or ASCII text conversion, and it will be mailed back to you.
