As a part of most projects, the Center for Universal Design will also deliver presentations and/or workshops. Most of these are a form of a “Continuing Education” opportunity. On occasion, the Center staff will deliver these presentations, talks or workshops and it won’t be a part of a bigger project.
This section shares some of these “stand-alone” events that occurred in North Carolina or for North Carolinians.
Emerging Issues Forum - The 1st quarter NCHBA board meeting on February 22nd (2005) allowed members the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the home building industry at the Emerging Issues Forums. Using the NCHBA 2005 theme of “building on education” as a platform, the forums gave members an insight on the new (or new-to-North Carolina) trends and products. The first Emerging Issues Forum focused on universal design and featured Dick Duncan … Duncan will explain the basics of universal design - as it is not what you may think! The forum will also inform members how to incorporate universal design features into existing house plans. |
