“Red Mean Go” Contest & Rules
Want to win a $1,000 NC State Bookstores gift card that can go toward textbooks, NC State apparel or other items? Write an essay illustrating why you are someone who epitomizes “Red Means Go.”
This person is curious, impatient and eager to create brighter solutions and a brighter future for all of us. A “Red Means Go” person is someone who hits the ground running and doesnt let thought slow them down. For example:
You are a student or faculty member who led a research project that resulted in a significant discovery.
You are a staff member who volunteers their time off work by helping homeless people in our community.
You are a student who goes on alternative spring breaks and works in impoverished communities across the globe.
You are someone who has overcome significant obstacles or speedbumps in life to get to NC State.
You created an invention here at NC State and maybe got a patent for it.
Nominate yourself or someone you know at NC State who has flattened speed bumps and made a difference in the world by submitting a short essay of 400 words or less. Essays will be judged on creativity and how well you embody “Red Means Go.” The prize will be awarded to the person who is the subject of the essay.
The deadline for submission is Nov. 26. The winner will receive their $1,000 gift card and be recognized during the NC State Mens Basketball game against Marquette on Dec. 22.
