
Former White House Photographer Sharon Farmer will visit NC State campus to give a lecture in Burns Auditorium on the same day, January 26, 2009, that her former subject Former President Bill Clinton will be here to give a Millennium Seminar Harrelson Lecture in Reynolds Coliseum at 10:30 a.m.
Nearly 30 photographs of Farmer’s work will be on exhibit in the Brooks Hall Gallery from January 26 to February 8. The opening reception will be held on January 26 at 5 p.m. in the gallery followed by a talk at 6 p.m. in Burns Auditorium (Kamphoefner Hall). This event is free and open to the public.
Currently, Farmer is an independent photojournalist, who for more than 30 years been a professional photographer and exhibition photographer, shooting news stories, political campaigns, cultural events, and more. For eight years, she was the behind the camera for the Clinton-Gore Administration, as well as the personal photographer to former President Clinton and his family. Farmer has been witness to history unfolding while capturing on film many of the best known photos of the Clinton Administration. During her eight years with the Clinton-Gore Administration, during three of those year, Farmer served as Director of White House Photography.
